“Today, Vegans Are Us has become more than a restaurant.
It is a movement centered on faith, wellness, community, and purpose.”

"Sometimes our greatest purpose is born from our deepest pain."
I'm Sharonda Harris-Bunton, Founder and CEO of Vegans Are Us with a Touch of Soul.
People often ask me why I chose a vegan lifestyle. The answer isn't simply because I love healthy food—it began with heartbreak.
Within a few short years, I experienced unimaginable loss as several of my closest family members passed away from preventable health-related illnesses. Watching the people I loved most leave this world changed me forever. It forced me to ask difficult questions about health, nutrition, and the choices we make every day. Instead of allowing grief to define my future, I allowed it to become my purpose.
In 2016, I immersed myself in studying plant-based nutrition, holistic wellness, and the healing properties of herbs. What started as a personal journey soon became a calling. I discovered that food could be more than something that fills us—it could nourish us, restore us, and bring people together.
Soon I found myself creating recipes that were not only delicious but made people rethink everything they believed about vegan food. Friends became customers. Customers became family. My kitchen became a place where healing and hope were served alongside every meal.
“Instead of allowing grief to define my future, I allowed it to become my purpose.
In November 2019, just one month before the world shut down during the pandemic, I took one of the biggest leaps of faith in my life and opened the first Vegans Are Us restaurant. Despite the uncertainty that followed, our mission never changed: serve incredible food, love people well, and inspire healthier living.
Today, Vegans Are Us has become more than a restaurant. It is a movement centered on faith, wellness, community, and purpose. From our signature vegan chicken drumettes to our herb-infused recipes, every dish reflects my belief that healthy food should never require sacrificing flavor.
As our journey continues with new locations opening in Philadelphia and Atlantic City—and many more to come—my mission remains the same:
To help transform lives... one meal, one conversation, and one person at a time.
This is only the beginning of my story.
One day, I'll share everything—the pain, the miracles, the setbacks, the victories, and the faith that carried me through it all. Until then, I invite you to experience Vegans Are Us for yourself.
Welcome to our family.
Peace. Purpose. Plants.
